I have been a Disney fanatic as far back as I can remember. I announced to my first grade teacher that I would someday live in Walt Disney World. I said that before my first visit. There were many times that I would get in trouble during elementary school library research sessions because the teacher would find me in the travel section or biography section reading any information I could get my hands on regarding Walt Disney or his parks.
I starting my career with The Walt Disney Company by working at a local Disney Store when I was around 18 years old. I loved every second of my shifts "on stage". One year later, I did fullfill my dream of living at WDW by taking part in a Walt Disney World College Program during the 1997-98 school year. Our living quarters were located in a gated place called Vista Way and owned by The Walt Disney Company. You can imagine my excitement. I continued to hold my status with WDW by returning once a year to work a seasonal shift. My final semester in college I returned to Walt Disney World to take part in an Advanced Internship Program in their Florida Tourist Sales department. I met my husband during that internship and we both stayed in Florida after completing the program. We ended up working full time for the Disney Vacation Club. I loved working for The Walt Disney Company and the Disney Vacation Club. However, 9/11 happened. My father was in a bad accident at work and reality set in very quickly. I missed my family in Pennsylvania. After coming home to visit family in December that year, I realized I wanted to someday raise my children close to family. I was offered a management job at the Disney Store where I started my career with Disney. Two weeks later I returned to Pennsylvania and loved every second I managed The Disney Store. Unfortunately, that Disney Store has now closed along with all of the others within a two hour driving radius of my home.
Now I get my Disney "fix" by traveling back to visit at least once a year with my husband and little prince and princess. I also enjoy being a guest speaking on podcasts and helping friends and family with planning their Disney vacations. Of course, my all important "research" is never done.
